Ian Francis of Flatpack asked kindly if I’d be willing to be a trustee of the mobile arts organisation he leads.
It’s exciting to be involved in Birmingham’s film scene and to learn from Ian on how a successful arts organisation is run and grown.
Every May Flatpack take over parts of Birmingham to deliver eclectic films, often bumping up to other art forms. They’ve been around since the early 2000s and run a year round program of events. Since the early 2010’s I’ve shown work with them, doing QnA’s, showing beside Phillip Donnelan’s 1960’s documentary “strangers in a new town”, and more recently at Smethwick Library with a preview screening of my BBC4 film Sikhs of Smethwick.
