The first work in The Exiles, made in 2019 as what was, in principle, a single-shot film. Composed from over eight hundred source files, exposed across a single back garden in Sandwell, the image holds eight separate scenes in one frame: a man stirs a pot on a gas fire, a singer in an outhouse, a sleeper, a TV flickering through a window, a neighbour watching.
Acquired by the Arts Council Collection. Shown at the New Art Gallery Walsall and exhibited as part of The Exiles in 2022. Companion works Seamstress and Furnacemen were acquired by the Contemporary Art Society.
