Indi follows the inner worlds of mother and son in the last stretches of life. For Indi, it is metaphoric. For his mother, it is actual: she is summoned into the afterlife by Sadar, a stalker of souls on Black Country canals.
The film moves through domestic scenes between Indi and his seamstress mother, and into VFX compositing sequences that hold an in-between world of imagination, where people wait to be taken by the Sardar. The work was the centrepiece of the solo exhibition [Traveller, Your Footprints] at New Art Exchange, Nottingham, in 2022.
