Indi follows the inner worlds of mother and son in the last stretches of life. For Indi, it is metaphoric. For his mother, it is actual: she is summoned into the afterlife by Sadar, a stalker of souls on Black Country canals.
The film moves between domestic scenes — Indi and his seamstress mother at home — and composited sequences where the living and the dead share the same frame, waiting on Black Country canals. Centrepiece of the solo exhibition [Traveller, Your Footprints] at New Art Exchange, Nottingham, 2022.
