Indi follows the inner worlds of mother and son in the last stretches of life. For Indi, it is metaphoric. For his mother, it is actual: she is summoned into the afterlife by Sadar, a stalker of souls on Black Country canals.
The film moves between domestic scenes, Indi and his seamstress mother at home, and composited sequences where the living and the dead share the same frame, waiting on Black Country canals. Centrepiece of the solo exhibition [Traveller, Your Footprints] at New Art Exchange, Nottingham, 2022.
