Lumbu

"Lumbu" means "tall one" in Punjabi. Ravi is fourteen and wants to be a grown up. At home, he reckons with his father's double life in a bid to rescue his mother. As the secret gets out, he loses control, and learns about the tyrannies of the adult world.

Set in Sandwell in summer 1994. Funded by BBC Films and the BFI. Available on BBC iPlayer. Screened at Genesis Theatre for the Small Eyes, Big Worlds showcase in February 2026, and selected for the London Indian Film Festival.
