Pallant House Exhibition
Many of you will have followed my 20/20 residency journey over the past couple of years, and I’m really pleased to share that it’s now reaching its final chapter. The journey concludes with a group exhibition featuring work by all 20 artists from the residency. The exhibition is being held at the Pallant House Gallery in Chichester, is free to attend, and runs until the 1st February 2026. For my residency I uncovered hidden histories of empire workers who migrated to the Black Country. The gallery's 19th- and 20th-century landscapes—by Edwin Butler Bayliss, Arthur Lockwood, and Harry N. Eccleston, romanticise the Industrial Revolution but omit its human cost. As Ekow Eshun observes, they capture what is shown and what is silenced: the people behind the progress. You can find out more about my work here . The 20/20 Portfolio was commissioned by the Decolonising Arts Institute with support from @unioftheartslondon , @aceagrams and @freelandsfoundation . The project paired 20 emerging or mid-career artists of colour with 20 UK public collections, commissioning new works for permanent acquisition.
