20/20 Artist Film

“ENDZ OF THE WORLD” - artist film "Endz of the World" is an video art piece that delves into the hidden narratives of the Black Country, a region in England profoundly influenced by the Industrial Revolution. This work intertwines personal stories, colonial history, and environmental consequences to critique the glorification of industrial progress.

Concept and Themes

"Endz of the World" explores the complexities of the Anthropocene through the lens of colonialism and race. It challenges the traditional narrative of the Industrial Revolution by highlighting the hidden costs of progress, such as environmental degradation and the silencing of marginalised voices. The project ties into my print works for 20/20, serving as an accompanying piece.

Key Themes:

Hidden Costs of Progress: Examining the environmental and social impacts of industrialisation.

Colonial Exploitation and Legacy: Highlighting the racial hierarchies and exploitation inherent in colonial and industrial practices.

Interconnectedness of Exploitation, Racism, and Ecological Devastation: Critiquing the ongoing legacy of colonialism and its impact on the environment.
